Napa Valley Wine Trolley · Downtown Napa
An open-air trolley built like a San Francisco cable car carries you between three Napa wineries, with lunch at one of them and a guide cracking jokes on board. It's the most playful way to taste the valley floor, and the route reaches Oakville and Rutherford, not just the edge of town.

The trolley leaves at 10:00 a.m. from in front of the parking lot at Oxbow Public Market, 644 1st Street in downtown Napa, and brings you back there about six hours later. The listing says to park in the southeast corner of the market lot. Oxbow opens at 7:30 a.m., per its own site, so coffee and a pastry before boarding are easy.
Three wineries come from a rotating list: Backstage Winery and Monticello Vineyards on Big Ranch Road just north of the city, Napa Cellars in Oakville, Rutherford Ranch on the Silverado Trail near Rutherford, and Jean Edwards. That puts you on the real valley floor, which the coach days from San Francisco rarely reach. Lunch is served at one of the wineries. In wet weather one guest reports the company sent a bus.
The fees are the catch. The listing's includes list names "wine tasting fees" and even "tips", while its "Know before you go" says tasting fees are not included and are paid at each venue. Ask Napa Valley Wine Trolley which line applies before you book and budget for three tastings to be safe. The trolley isn't suitable for wheelchair users.
In front of the parking lot at Oxbow Public Market, 644 1st Street. Park in the southeast corner of the lot.
One of the five wineries on the list. Backstage and Monticello are only a few minutes north of town.
Lunch is served at one of the three wineries, then a tasting.
The last stop of the day. If it's Napa Cellars or Rutherford Ranch, you're well up the valley.
The trolley returns to the market, roughly six hours after leaving.
Exceptional tour. Craig was our guide and he was great from the beginning until the end of the tour.
Had a wonderful time, despite rain. They sent a bus.
We had the absolute best day ever! such a fun enlightening experience!
It was a great experience. All the wine tastings were authentic and informative.
